If buying privately be very , very careful and get car thoroughly examined and road tested as you could be buying someone elses problems .Check service history , number of [revious owners and how long seller has had car in case seller is wheeling and dealing in cars .If from a garage , see what warranty is being given .Check length of MOT and previous MOTs to verify mileage .Again be very careful , so many cowboys out there .

Call the AA,
They do a very intensive check on everything on a car and report.
I actually watched them from my workshop door once.
they went through everything,
or so it seemed.
So call them,
members pay a cheaper price than non members,
And with modern cars complexity I'd say join.
And before anyone says it I'm not employed or have anything to do with them.
Apart from when they drop of a relayed vehicle for repair.
