2010 Vauxhall Insignia dashboard lights dimming

Car: Vauxhall Insignia
Year: 2010
Variant: 2.0 160 cdti exclusiv hatchback
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi all
newbie with first post so here goes.
I have a 2010 insignia exclusive and the problem I am having is when the auto headlights come on (via the sensor) the dashboard lights dim really heavily, so bad at times I can hardly see any display. When this happens it won't let me increase the brightness with the dashboard control either.
I have tried turning the lights on manually and the dashboard lights are fine.
Has anyone came across this problem before any help would be appreciated before I go down the route of expensive auto electricians

Strange one. I've googled the issue for you and haven't come across it anywhere.
But maybe its in the settings
