2010 Vauxhall Insignia power tailgate doesn't stay open

Complain about the cost of replacing power arm after checking and diagnosing and still got the same fault .If not getting satisfaction , get on to Vauxhall customer service and voice concerns about them being unable to fix .

They do suffer from faulty switches , whether that would cause your problem couldn't say .The power tailgate has three modes of operation as is shown in owners handbook and can be adjusted as per section " keys ,doors and windows " .Might be worth trying adjusting settings and see if it clears fault , sometimes works .Either that or there must be a control / module that regulates the boot movement .On some cars , water getting into the micro switches can cause this sort of problem .

I called Pentagon (Grimshaws) Saturday 19/04/2014 they confirmed fault not rectified.

I was told by Simon "don't worry about the cost we will sort it out"
they propose to work on it again Tuesday and will update me in the afternoon.

New power ram fitted and the gate was a lot better, stayed up with a little of assistance by hand.

Left hand side ram found to be weak so replaced.

Power Tail Gate now works perfectly.

Pentagon solved the problem.
