Management system

2011 Vauxhall Insignia vx line red
Car: Vauxhall Insignia
Year: 2011
Variant: vx line red
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Took the car in for normal First service and was told it would be given an upgrade to the management system free of charge by vauxhall. After running the car for approx 5-6 weeks I noticed the miles per gallon had decreased by 25%. I used to get 44mpg and its now down to 33mpg. Also after a journey of over 10miles I can smell soot or carbon in the car. I took the car back to the garage and told them all this and at first they tried to say they hadn!t done anything to cause this, but they said they would check it out. After much scratching of heads they say they contacted Vauxhall who now say they know about a few problems being caused by the new upgrade to the management system . They nw say they are going to contact me after the 12th January 2013 to book in for a solution to the problems. It begs then question if I hadn!t noticed what was happening , would i have been contacted.

Possibly no one would have know about your concern, lucky you know your own car and have noticed this concern,But the vehicle may have just re adapted to your driving style after so many drive cycles .

If you are still unhappy with the performance/economy etc. after it`s been back to them.......tell them!!!
So often some main dealers try to fob customers off, but its your hard earned cash yon have spent so be persistent if needed. Lets hope they will sort it out for you.

If you drive the car on the motorway above 2500rpm it will adapt .
