1999 Vauxhall Corsa engine cutting out

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 1999
Variant: 1.0l 12v Breeze
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The engine keeps cutting out on my 1.0L corsa. the car starts fine and runs fine for so long then all of a sudden it will just cut out. I have changed the coil pack and this seems to have done nothing. I have been told about a cam shaft and drive shaft sensor. But then towing it home a friend said to turn the engine one and keep the heating on full blast, this stopped the engine cutting out and it ran fine. So now i dont know what it is could it be one of those sensors also where is the temeperature sensor located?

sounds like the engine is over fueling. i believe the coolant temp sensor is in the top of the water pump or on the cylinder head somewhere. have it plugged in to confirm but these engines have a tendency to have the camshaft sensor wheel slip on the cam. do have the cam timing checked also..

My sisters corsa used to start, drive then cut out, if you left it a couple of mins it would restart no problem, then cut out again a few mile up the road, it was traced to a faulty crank position sensor, changed it and it never did it again.
