2006 Vauxhall Corsa information display cancels out when lights are switched on

My daughters car is a V/hall Corsa 1.6 Auto matic. When she switches her head lights on the Information display above the radio/CD player goes out and nothing can be seen. She switches lights off and the info display comes back on.

with the headlights switched on try turning the instrument dimmer switch to fully on

As " moley1956 " suggests , check dimmer switch .Happens quite often as you can see from Vauxhall forum .Easily done .

if that doesnt work check the bulb that lights the display
