Dipped & main beam not working - only parking lights

Could check handbook and see if there is a headlamp relay . Take it you have tested there is no power at headlights ? Only other thing I can suggest is light switch .

Hi, many thanks for your reply - much appreciated. Haven't got a handbook to check headlamp relay but will check that out. As for power at headlights - am unsure how I'd go about this. Is this only something a mechanic would be able to do with specialist equipment? Have noted re light switch. Once again, many thanks.

Glad to try and help .It's a simple job to test if there is power at lights , though you need a test lamp or meter . You said fuses are ok ? Don't know if this helps ,

Vauxhall Corsa C (2000 - 2006)

There are headlight fuses and relays in the underbonnet fusebox. The two little fuses in the corner and the small relay right next to them are the main beam ones. See if the relay clicks [you can feel it] when main beam is selected.

Hi again. I located the fuse box yesterday and had the bulbs/fuses for the main beam tested at my local car parts shop. Was unsure where to locate relay as that was going to be next port of call - I shall check that out asap. I haven't got access to a lamp tester to check for power. Thanks for the info.
