Hi , I'm having trouble starting my seat from cold. It turns over ok , then conks out. It can take 8-10 tries before it will start. Once started and warmed up. It will fire up straight away no trouble. Any suggestions please?

Best to try the easiest and cheapest possible causes first and replace the sparkplugs and see if that helps .

The spark plugs were changed back in November along with oil and air filter .

You could try changing the engine coolant temp sensor which sends info to the ECU on fuel needs / settings i.e more fuel when cold start .But only a guess .

Thank you, I will give that a go. I had seen that mentioned on another format forum . Fingers crossed it works!

It's worth a try and usually not an expensive part .

Well so I changed the coolant sensor last night and it hasn't helped. Is there anything else you can suggest? The engine isn't coming up any fault codes or engine management lights

You wont get fault codes unless you scan with VAG-COM or similar .One thing you could try in case it is a fuel problem is to switch ignition on for a few seconds prior to starting ( you may hear a buzz ) , switch off again and repeat once more or twice which should prime the fuel pump / system if suspect and try starting then .
