2002 Renault Laguna engine tep is high and blowere are cool/warm

Car: Renault Laguna
Year: 2002
i was driving along and all of a suden the engine temp shot up and the blowers wernt as hot as they should be.

sounds like low water level, which means it wont circulate the engine, so it boils, which also means you wont get hot/warm air
if the engine has become too hot it might have effected the head gasket

Check coolant level , thermostat may have jammed in closed position .Check for any leaks in cooling system .You may have to bleed system if air locked .If still having problems get back to board for more advice .

hello guys thanks for you help but it still overheats i rang renault and they would not talk to me about it.

the thermostat operates correctly and levels are ok although i have found it hard to bleed the system.

Get a block test carried out to check head gasket .If head gasket gone it causes among all the overheating probs etc . air locks in cooling system which affects heater . That test will confirm or eliminate head / gasket .Also see if water pump is circulating water o.k .

hey guys did some gigging around and it looks as if the water pump is broke as circulation is non existent

Forgot to ask what engine in car , but doesn't matter now. If you are doing water pump it's advisable to renew the timing belt and any tensioners/idlers at same time .
