1996 Renault Laguna heating

Car: Renault Laguna
Year: 1996
Variant: 1.8 RN
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
I had no heating in the car however the engine was not over heating and i have not lost any coolant.

After a substantial amount of time i get hot air in the cab for a minute or so then it goes again and comes and goes.

I have had a new thermostat fitted

do you have better heating when at idle not moveing if so still suggests stat, check if matrix in and out pipes get hot(go through into cabin)if hot check flaps on heater unit open(hot cold knob moves easily)and is still connected.could be a blocked matrix.when mr f duck sees it he may help more as hes an x renault man.

run the car up to tempreture on the spot and feel the top and bottom of the radiator if this is warm or hot to the touch then you need the system bleeding as it would suggest air in the system which would explain the hot and cold air in the car

the best way to check if it is air on a laguna is to raise the water tank up so that its higher than the heater matrix as ir normally rises up also have you checked for the bleed valves on the pipes going into the matrix have fixed a few in the past have sometimes they are a pain
