2007 Renault Kangoo cut out while driving, wont start now

Could try jump starting . If it starts then check alternator charging rate . You will need to charge battery if alternator faulty . A fuel filter would not normally cause low cranking of engine .

Thanks for that. I noticed when the van was left parked up and left on, it would also cut out after a minute or so. Would that suggest the same alternator issue ?

It's possible if battery is low and any further draw on battery . Plus alternator at low idle could decrease in capabilities further . It could also be a battery failure due to dud or weak cells , but doubtful , though may be damaged if not been properly charged whilst driving . I would check alternator and battery first before getting in too deep and possible costs . If not that , then you could look at checking / changing fuel filter or further possible causes .

Hi, Just an update. tried jump starting but still only attempting to turn over, battery light and stop is on the dash. Can see belt next to alternator turn when attempting to start.

Could be dud battery , would check voltage .

There are many possible causes but really hard to say from here . If engine not cranking fast enough it wont start . Check engine oil level to eliminate that , if you knew what to do safely you could check fuel supply . Probably best bet would be to check for fault codes and see what triggered the stop light otherwise could keep on just guessing .
