All electrics dead when turning the key in ignition.

my wife drove the car to the shops. All fine no problems. Parked the car and when inserting the key in the ignition. Nothing no lights on the dash boards no central locking working.
can someone please provide some advise on what the problem is.
Could it be that the key fob battrey needs to be replaced.

Sounds like car battery flat, tried jump start ?

i had the exact same problem i sent my car for a diagnostic and the immobiliser needed reprogrammed
