2004 Peugeot 407 timing belt

Car: Peugeot 407
Year: 2004
Variant: SW 1.6 HDI
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
I recently bought a 407 SW 1.6HDI with 132000KMS. I have failed to get Service History details on the Car. Is it in any way possible by examining the Engine externally to ascertain if the Timing Belt has been done. If it is possible can you be graphic in your explanation please.

Unless you can see signs on timing cover , bolts , nuts etc .that it's been disturbed or off for some reason , hard to tell without stripping .Even then it's nothing certain .Some mechanics used to write when belt replaced on covers or nearby . Never wise not to replace if any doubt it's due and not been done .Remember always better to fit timing belt kit , not just belt .
