2004 Peugeot 407 turbo lag

basically driving along at normal pace is fine pulling away from stand still is fine but when accelerating feels like clutch slip but I know its not the clutch , so accelerate, revs go up but no boost from turbo then turbo catches up ive changed the maf with no difference sometimes all is fine don't want to fork out for a new turbo when all it could be is a sensor or something less . can anyone help???

Check the EGR isn't stuck open and also for split boost hoses.

that makes sense where is the egr and turbo pipes located

Hoses can delaminate and collapse also under load
