2007 Peugeot 308 front suspension knocking

I purchased the 308 in June 09 with 35,000 miles, within 2 months I reported knocking noise from front o/s wheel. Since then vehicle has been back to Peugeot on number of occasions,they have replace ball joint, o/s engine mounting to to no avail, still knocking now also developing on n/s, nowit has gone out of warranity they want no more to do with it?
Any ideas guy's?

what exactly have you had replaced on the car and does it knock all the time or under certain driving conditions?

The knocking happens on both sides when travelling on normal town/city roads only when going over manhole cover or uneven road, whilst travelling on motorway or smooth roads there is no problem.
Sounds like when a shock absorber bottoms out!!!
Peugeot acknowledge there is knocking cannot find it and will not investigate further until it developes?

If not an antirollbar droplink i would look at anti rollbar bushes.

anti roll bar links are normally a common fault as well as bushes,raise the front of the car off the ground using axle stands if you have any,wobble each wheel top to bottom and left to right,there should be no play,spin the wheel by hand to check for bearing noise,bottom balljoint rubber boots,track rod end rubber boots for splits/damage and there should be no play,check lower arm bushes for splitting,check shock absorber top mount is not loose/damaged and check springs on front shocks are not broken,can you reproduce the noise yourself if you bounce the front suspension whilst car stationary?

my peugeot 308 1.6 HDI Problem with noise in Engine area when Engine is idling the fan belt pulley Tensioner was change,And i still have noise 3 times in the Dealer.

Hey mate, have they checked the crank pulley as this has a rubber damper inside which can create a knock when worn they last about 50k miles if not the alternator clutch pulley could be goosed, this causes vibration through the belt and makes a racket! Hope this helps

IT will be either your strut top mounts or subframe bushes that need replaced. thats if its not your anti roll bar bushes/droplinks.
This is a very common fault on 308's
