hi i reversed around a corner and when took it out of reverse gear stick wobbling all over the place unable to select 1st or second i can move the stick in a circle has gearbox gone completely or could it be linkage issue as am told they are common faults can get it into 3rd and reverse but isnt right

it does sound like a linkage has popped off/broken

As Paulieone suggests, check all linkages.

had this on a citroen turned out linkage had just popped off its ball.
