2000 Peugeot 206 engine cutting out

I have recently been having a few problems with my Peugeot 206. It is a X registration year 2000. During driving the car on Thursday I uncounted the following problems: The rev counter and speedometer was going to nothing and the clock kept resetting itself. The headlights kept turning off and then turning themselves back on. The car ticks over perfectly. But seems to lose power when I accelerate. Also having problems now with putting car in reverse

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is??

Check the earth cables especially from the gearbox/engine to body .
