2000 Peugeot 206 throttle housing ??

Car: Peugeot 206

Problem

Car wouldn’t start without applying throttle, had to keep apply throttle until car was warm or else it would stall.
Soultion, Replaced Idle control valve.

Car now starts but had a hunting idle speed of around 1050-1200rpm, when I took it for a small test drive it kept getting stuck at 2000rpm...

Since then i have dissembled the throttle housing and gave it a good clean, but this had only made the problem worse, now the idle speed it very un predictable ?

I’m thinking an issue with the ECU – as I removed the battery for over 30 hours? Or a poor seal leaking air some where?

Not sure to be honest! Any ideas/suggestions would be very VERY helpful !!

Thanks Aaron.T

i have a very similar problem, the car is a nightmare to drive, i`m goin to go to a scrap yard today and see about replacing the whole unit, should be a cheaper and easier fix.

Good Day,

I too have a similar problem i have erratic raves
which slows down the pick of the car and sometimes stalls if my foor is not on the throttle pedal. i replaced the rave sensor twice plus the injectors little improvement.

I was advised to have the ECU reprogrammed by the local dealer will do it on the next service.

Check / replace engine coolant temp sensor .Also check for any air leaks at vacuum hoses or pipes .
