2002 Peugeot 206 dip stick

i'm afraid to may have to remove the dipstick tube from the engine block, clean it out of debris, and replace it with a new stick. very common on earlier models

let the engine go cold. then follow the dipstick tube down to the block. it may be held by a 8 or 10mm bolt and a rubber O ring at the base. i cant remember for sure, but i believe it to be a relativly simple job. little tip, once unbolted, twist the tube out dont just yank it, because they do break....
