THE SPEEDO HAS STOPPED WORKING AND IT ALSO CUTS OUT WHEN SLOWING DOWN BUT STARTS UP AGAIN NO BOTHER, RUNS OK OTHERWISE I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT WAS THE SPEED SENSOR, I HAVE CHANGED THAT BUT STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM PLEASE ANY IDEAS WELCOME

Check the spark plugs, fuel filter, disconnect the battery overnight next day take it for a drive.

I had exactly the same problem on my 206 and it turned out to be a break in the blue wire that runs from the engine fuse box through the wiring loom to the reverse light switch and also the ecu.
It caused the speedo and reverse lights to stop working, and when I plugged in an obd2 code reader it showed that this also affected the 02 heater sensors, map sensors and others. fixed the break in the wire all codes cleared, problem seems to be fixed.
