2004 Peugeot 206 clicking noise when unlocking and when starting car

Hi.
When I unlock my car I get a clicking noise from behind the centre console above the stereo. It lasts for about 6 seconds. Then when I start the engine it happens again for about 6 seconds. It started happening last week and it sounds like a dry leaf stalk poking into a fan. If I turn off the engine and lock the doors it wont do it again until it has been left for over 5 minutes.
Hope someone can help.

does the car have climate control? if so it sounds like a recirc motor or mixer flap motor clicking.

No climate control. also It happens when all is switched off.

without hearing it it is difficult to say but may be a relay or the bsi switching something

is it a 1.4 petrol or diesel?
