2002 Peugeot 206 electrics messed up...intermittent fault. please help!

Car: Peugeot 206
Year: 2002
Variant: 1.4 Quiksilver
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My car has developed a huge number of electical faults recently.

All the faults are intermittent, but all happen at the same time.

central looking wont work, then my alarm goes off because i opened the car with the key.

my headlights come on, on their own even though they are switched off.

my indicators stop working or indicate 3 times and then stop.

the horn stops working while these faults are happening.

Could anyone suggest what could possibly be causing this????? please help

The common denominator is your battery, that is the first item I would check to make sure it is holding a charge of more than 10 volts. A lot of electrical faults can always be traced to a bad earth or a common control/ECU so indicators/central locking/horn improper operation could be related to an alarm/immobiliser ECU. Again, alarms/immobilisers tend to malfunction, albeit temporarily, when they are not fed the correct voltage. Check and clean the earth from battery to the chasis, it can't hurt to do this and eliminates the common earth for your electrics.
