2000 Peugeot 206 cluster clocks is faulty they have 2 conections in the back .do i have to send the ecu unit with them to get them repaired

our works van went wrong speedo stopped and service indicator went wrong we got another from brakers straight in and working only £15 dont think if you send away ecu will be reqd even later pods with "can".
