2001 Peugeot 206 start up loses power

when i put key in ignition the car tries to start and then electrics die and central locking goes on. Display starts flashing so have to keep re setting time and date.
Really frustrated any ideas please

it sounds like the battery is flat,test the battery and check the alternator charge rate

Would appear battery flat . Get a jump start and see if car starts . If so , then get battery charged / tested .

Check earth lead on gearbox.
