Handbrake Efficency

Hi Peeps, If You could help my 206 went in for an mot recently failing on a few minor bits the mot stated the handbrake efficency at 7% . now ive had a supposed mechanic look at the problem and he has said the pads are new but the discs are a tad old but still useable and the calipers are fine the pistons working as supposed to. please help also the handbrake has been adjusted by the bolt in the centre console. thanks waders

i would get new pads anyway just to make sure hope this helps

Got to make sure h/brake cable and all linkage mechanism is operating and not seized / sticking .

My car has just failed for the same problem... But mines 15% efficient. I had it tightened a month ago because it wasn't holding on hills, and ever since it has been fine ?
