Would appear the auto . box is stuck in snow mode , meaning it doesn't use first gear and starts in wrong (higher) gear to prevent wheel slip etc. Check up of the fluid level is recommended every 40,000 miles .This is from manual ,

If you do drain and refill the transmission fluid then the fluid wear sensor will have to be reset. This is what tells the ecu to flash the snow and sport mode lights when the fluid needs changing. This can be done by a pug dealer or someone with suitable equipment!

Needs to be checked out for faults by someone who knows what is involved when lights flashing and read diagnostic check results.
