1999 Peugeot 206 manifold gasket

Never had to use sealant on any exhaust manifold gaskets I've fitted .Have you checked both faces with a straight edge ?

Hi yes its perfect,its the first thing I checked,but these two gaskets are very very thin aluminum,like tin foil that as been doubled,totally different than any I have used before,but that has been on old cars 70,80ts and early 90ts ,which were 10 times easier to work on,these new cars have got me beat,tony

Is it the same place it's blowing every time ? Sure there are no cracks on manifold ?

are the studs tight?

the fumes are blowing downwards when cold, but when car gets hot it stops blowing,and yes the studs are tight,I have worked on cars for years and do not think the gaskets are good enough for the job,thinking of making my own,or try to double up to see if that works ???,a few weeks ago had peugeot fit the gaskets they blew as well,took it back they said it was fine ,yes it was it was hot,would not let me leave over night so they could see how it was cold ,feel like putting a hammer to it,hate little jobs that get the better of me,will have another go tomorrow,tony,ps thanks to the above for your help ta.

the manifold must have a crack in it then!
