2000 Peugeot 206 grinding when brake

when i put my brakes on theres a grin ding noise not all the time they have checked my brake pads and they are fine what else could it be???

when i had a peugeot i had dis problem quite often well say every 3 months it had always been the brake pads who told you it wasnt bcause i an pretty certain it is the brake pads!!!!

does this happen mainly in the morning but goes once the brake has been applied several times, or after the car has been sitting for a while in damp conditons, if so then most likely to be due to dampness and the brake dust in drums on rear brakes.
