2002 Peugeot 206 gearbox and heating

Car: Peugeot 206
Year: 2002
Variant: 1.4 Petrol
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Hi
My 206 used to shift a little rough in 1st gear since I bought it. Went to the garage and they replaced the clutch plate and changed gearbox oil. When oil was changed they couldnt find any grinded metal pieces in the oil which could indicate the gearbox was worn. Clutch cable and cilinder were also fine. Now the car shifts a lot harder into first gear you need a lot of power and sometimes it just get blocked. Then I need to switch off engine and put it in 1st. Also reverse makes a grinding and crackling noise.
Problem also gets worse when engine reaches normal operating temperature around 90°C and on warm days. This will lead the temp gauge to hit 100°C which will make the fan kick in.. which makes an embarassing noise and vibration.
Im planning on trading/selling the car but I would like to hear what you guys think the problem might be as the peugeot dealer struggled to fix this too.

"replaced the clutch plate",
Only the plate?
not the pressure plate and thrust bearing?
Clutch's usually come in three parts as stated above.
Only replacing the plate is going to give exactly your symptoms.
And it sounds like the fans bearing is shot.

As above .Unbelievable if only clutch centre plate changed .
" Clutch cable and cilinder " ??????
If you have a clutch cable you don't have a clutch cylinder .

My bad the clutch was replaced not only the plate. (Just like mentioned above)
They were 100% sure it would solve the problem but it didnt..
Also 2nd gear is starting to get hard now.
Any hope?

Try doubling the clutch .

Did they renew the guide bush/sleeve on the gearbox?
this sleeve is what the clutch release bearing slides on when the clutch is engaged.
Very common on the boxes,
So much so my local Pug dealer supplies the three piece clutch kit and sleeve at a discounted price.
Around £15-20 and insanity not to check replace when doing a clutch.
