Burning Smell

Hi folks, looking for some advice before I head off to my local garage. I have a peugoet 206 which is 6 years old and just clocked 56k miles. My problem is that I have recently notice a burning smell coming from under my bonnet when I swith my engine off after driving. It smells like melting plastic. Any indications as to what it could be? Looking for possible diagnosis before I take it to a garage. My car had an annual service at a Peugeot dealership back in January and was MOT'd at the end of feb. Thanks in advance.
