Engine light coming on and loss of power.
Code P1664 coming up on diagnostic machine but unable to access any further.

What diagnostic machine?
makes a big difference.
the only diagnostic system I'd trust on these is Peugeot Planet,
the original Peugeot diagnostic.
I actually have a Peugeot diagnostic job in right now,
The owner had been to 2 garages and got conflicting and misleading results which has cost him time and cash.
20 mins on PP and the right interpretation and correct parts meant job done in an hour,
Customer delighted.
And just for my own curiosity I plugged in 2 other diagnostic systems and got the same results as the previous garages!!
Who knows what is going on,
net result is for the right coms always use Peugeot Planet diagnostics on Peugeots.
I'd suggest you all round your local for a garage that has and can use Peugeot planet diagnostics.
Your local main dealer will have it but charges could be high and mount.
