2004 Peugeot 206 rd2 radio will not power off and is unresponsive

The RD2 Factory fitted radio is now refusing to power off even with ignition off.
The radio is also unresponsive to any buttons being pressed.
Some basic functions will work such as cd eject and volume, but wont power off with button or ignition off.
Any body any good ideas ?

try disconnecting the upper display.

how do i remove the display ?

you have to remove the radio and take the surround off then undo two torx twenty screws
