Multiple problems: Engine Cutting Off & Engine Not starting

Hi everyone:

I am facing two problems with my car. I did look around this site, but was not able to find a solution to my problems. In case it already was asked and a solution was suggested, please forgive me for posting the same questions again.

The two problems I am having with my car are:

1- While driving my car, if there is water on the road (from rain, snow or any water puddle) if the tire on the passenger side splashes a lot of water, suddenly the engine starts to shut down, unless I keep the engine speed below 20 mph, regardless of what ever gear I am using. If I try to go above that speed, the engine shuts down. This only happens as I said if a lot of water is splashed on the passenger side tire. Not on the driver side. Then, once it dries off, every thing gets back to normal.

2- When I start the engine in the morning, it starts so well and smooth. However, when I drive around and decide to stop and run any errands, when I try to start the engine again, it will not start. Just the engine makes a click noise, but no ignition. I have to wait for almost an hour, while leaving the hood open, then the ignition will work and the engine will start. When the weather is warmer, I run into this problem a lot. When it is colder, it happens less, unless the car warms up.

Would really appreciate if anyone could help me with my problems.

Thank you ...

The water issue I would say some critical component in getting wet, when you go thru a puddle, stop the car and open the bonnet try and see where the water is hitting, must be a plastic cover in the wheel arch area that is missing somewhere,

As for the clicking when trying to start, I'm sure that's the starter motor, try tapping it with a long broom handle type object and try to start it, possible stuck or wornbrushes, strange issue your having with it though!

the air intake is on the nearside so I would imagine water is getting up into your air filter. There was a modification to prevent this by cutting a small hole into the intake pipe at the lowest part so any accumulated water runs out.As for the clicking it could be starter but I would get the earth lead at the gearbox checked.
