2001 Peugeot 206 when cold starting engine dosent idle smooth its a bit ropey

I have just bought this peugoet206 for my daughter and when I drove it home it seemed to run ok but wasn't very nippy the idling was a bit ropey on idle ,I got it home and decided to check plugs coil pack etc and its seems the same once its warm it runs fine but sometimes eml flashes on and off I am starting to suspect a sensor as all the plugs where burning well can anyone help me please would a cam sensor be the problemif so where is it located please ty gaz

If it's from cold , could try changing engine coolant temp sensor that feeds info to the ECU .Could also check timing / and belt .
