2002 Peugeot 206 electrics - loss of power then to stop

need to start with a fully charged battery also make sure drive belt is still on check all connections and earth connections on top of gearbox then see if it will start if not check fuse box connections for corrosion if you get it started check charge rate and report back to us so we can advise you further

Thanks for response firstly. Checked all cables and fuses u mentioned all fine. Had read somewhere to try and detach back lights from connector then started up after applying some throttle whilst turning key. Am having a high pitch buzzing sound of electic and sounds like coming from under the bonnet a silver Bosch unit? But can't be sure. Also now lights seem to be working as well as indicators .

so does it run now the silver component you mention is it the alternator does it have a pulley driven by a belt if engine running check charge rate if it is alternator that is makeing noise it will need replaceing but get a garage to listen to it first before you buy a new one as i cant be sure it is the alternator you are talking about and dont want you to waste your money
