2000 Peugeot 206 airbag light and engine juddering

Car: Peugeot 206
Year: 2000
Variant: 2.0 HDI D Turbo
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Anyone know why my engine judders like mad until rev the engine up to 3000revs randomly, and on start up it does it pretty much everytime.

I have had my alternator and battery checked, both are fine.
The Airbag light comes on everytime that it judders, and then goes out afterwards.

I only have a airbag in my steering wheel that is it, no passanger airbag or seat airbags. Its now and then, nothing else is wrong with the car, no lights on the dash exept the airbag light, its not permanetly on, its just comes on when the engine judders.
I dont have the type of 206 what has connnections under the seats for the airbags, anyone know where first to look?
Thank you.

It could be a number of things .the judder could be down to a fault with one or more injectors(a quick leak off check would be a good idea) the airbag light could be down to a drop in voltage or a poor connection that is disturbed when the engine judders.Does it take a while before the car starts?

the car starts straight away first time everytime no problems what do you mean by injectors? I'm a woman I have no clue just using the internet to find out what I can do :)

the injectors inject fuel into the engine.

Ok so just get a garage to check my injectors out but you think it Definatley sounds like it could be this and it's the 1st thing I should try yeah?

Remember this is just advice from master techs who enjoy the challenge of fixing cars and have years of experience ,Unfortunetly for your fault it could be a number of issues ,If you are unable to do the checks yourself probably best booking it in for an hours diagnostic and ask to be contacted for further permission to spend more time on the vehicle.main dealership would be best option unless you know a good garage.

Yeah I bought a peugeot diagnostic tester got the software and everything but when I plug it into the diagnostic socket and test it .. It says 'ECU not replied' and won't complete the test :(

if the reader isnt reading it could be that 10 amp that has blown! As suggested though it is difficult to diagnose as there are a number of different things it could be. A code reader is only a guide and one fault code could be due to another fault . Your best bet is to take it to a garage. For safety reasons more than anything because if you dont know what you are doing you could injure yourself.

No disrespect but got to agree that you sre better leaving well alone as you mention " I have no clue " .Buying the code reader could be a waste of time and money as ,if you get it to throw up codes you dont have the knowledge or ability to act on the information .You would be better to leave it to a garage for fixing as you could do more damage than good . I am very determine and when I bought this car ( w
Bare in mind I know 0 about cars) there were various problems, I've replaced the front disks and pads bled the brakes flushed the system of fluids and re topped up again fixed a broken electric window fixed on a few wing mirror, fitted a new stereo along with audio stalk connectors, fixed the interior light boot light and replaces headlights & side lights. Removed a multi lock that was on the gear stick, fitted a new gear knob and gaitor, replaced the centre console interior and I Learnt all that from the Internet and was successful everything I did without a problem. I bought it for £200 and did it up like this, oh and Fitted a new rear bumper due to a large crack In it. Spent approx £200 And it looks fantastic wereas it was a wreck when I bought it. So I've done a good job with it. Off to halfords today to buy my fuses and replace see what happens from there !

Fuses have all been replaced, didn't fix the fault. However had a look underneath steering wheel at other fuses none are blown but noticed under the wheel that the ribbon for the airbag that links into the airbag on the drivers wheel was close to other wires and I've moved it, it's linked into this adaptor looking thing all attached to the ribbon, I've moved it all away from other cables and the fault has disappeared after keeping it in a certain position away from Other cables.
Seems it may have been touching a earth or another important cable causing the fault. Fault resolved guys ! ;)

Might be worthwhile checking the connections " this adaptor looking thing all attached to the ribbon " .On second thoughts leave alone if o.k and then check if problem returns .
