2001 Peugeot 206 ?clutch

Car: Peugeot 206
Year: 2001
Variant: 1.4 3dr
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
Hi guys,
wondered if anyone could help, im new to all this so bear with me!

Bought my car 2.5 weeks ago, second hand.
was driving home tonight and stopped in a car park. when reversing out of the space car speeded up even when i pushed the clutch right down. stopped the car and the gear stick was stuck in reverse. Managed to move gear stick eventually but as I was driving home noticed at times the bite was lower than it had been previously. Just drove it round the block and it seems better but clutch clicks once on occasion when its pushed in.
do I need a new clutch? argh!

This sounds like a release problem, possible master or slave cylinder - most likely the master cylinder seals have gone and air is getting into the system.
The clutch is probably ok.
