1999 Peugeot 206 flashing battery sign and clicking sound from engine

Hi,

Quick question the flashing battery indicator has been on for sometime on my car. I got a new battery and its still flashing also lately theres been a clicking sound coming from the engine. anyone know what this might be?

have you checked the earth lead at the gearbox? could also be a problem with the bsi,the clicking noise being a relay perhaps.
