2007 Peugeot 206 car wont start

i've changed the gearbox last Saturday and the car wont start and it's in the garage and the mechanic didn't figure out why the car wont start would please help me to solve this problem

if it was ok prior to doing the gearbox then you need to back track and check everything you have done, favourite would be the crank sensor

if the starter motor has been off check the wireing to the motor has been put back correctly,could be something as simple as a missing washer

Long shot, does the car want to start? if yes, try taking the air filter out, turn the key. If it works clean and replace air filter and get a new one ASAP.
