2001 Peugeot 206 heavy boot

Can anyone help? The Boot on my peugeot 206 for some reason is heavy, not sure how or why this has happend. Went to open the boot this weekend and i cam barley lift the boot open. my car is a carbolet. not sure if this is a common problem? or an expensive on to fix?

Sounds like you need new boot struts .

hindges might be seized an need greased. this should be down at evry service but every technitian like myself surgest doing it every month

Strut failure is a known and common fault .
