1996 Nissan Micra 1275
Car: Nissan Micra
Year: 1996

The engine kept cutting out 3 weeks ago, since then I've had the fuel filter changed, the distributor, distributor cap and leads changed, the fuel pump checked, it's been on a diagnostic computer too and the problem remains a mystery - any more ideas?

as a follow up to previous post i had a weird ignition related problem on this car it would start fine, run, rev, all good ,then without warning jerk, cut out,and lose power, and the cause was a broken earth wire from the throttle body to the inlet manifold if yours is doing the same dont bother with the broken wire ,get a piece of multistrand 0.75 wire about 1 metre long , attach an m6 ring crimp to both ends fit one end under bolt at throttle body end and the other end to the earths on TOP of the engine located just to the rear and left of the distributor cap (remove airbox assembly first)finally, check main earth wire which is fitted to top of engine as mentioned, and goes to right hand chassis rail and is retained there by an m6 screw replace if weak or broken regards j r
