2000 Ford Puma air con not working

Hello everyone. I hope someone can help. Last summer I took my car into a branch of national tyres for an oil change. 2 hours later as I drove away I discovered that the air con had packed in. Deliberate sabotage or coincidence ? I dont know. Anyway, The lights on the air con switches light up and all the fuses and relays are ok. There is no discernable slight reduction in engine speed (as there used to be when the air con was working.) I suspect a loose connection but I dont know where the air con unit is located on the engine. As some garages will do ewt for more business any solutions may help other car owners too? Thanks Karl.

Could check to see if any wiring knocked off rad switch / sensor by accicdent for fan .

could be that the air con needs regassing,due to a leak or just low pressure,if there is not enough pressure then the compressor will not run,the a/c compressor will be on the front or back of the engine and will be belt driven

if you think someones having a play look at the silver pipe in engine bay,it has a pressure switch in it( looks like an engine temp switch).
check the plug is secure.the other is on the compressor(runs on fan belt)this has a single wire to it make sure its connected.
otherwise look under the bonnet when the switch is pressed on cold temp check the cooling fan comes on and the compressor clutch starts to spin.
these cars do suffer from condensors leaking(in front of rad)check for stone holes.good luck
