2007 Fiat Punto fault with transmission on fiat punto eleganza

Automatic: wont go into gear at first then once driving all okay but reverts to Neutral when stopped. Fluid leaking.

All faults indicate caused by low ATF due to leak . You need to get the leak found , fixed and ATF changed .Might be better to get an estimate on cost of repairs first

Thank you for this advice - I have contacted Gearbox & Axle Centre in Cwmbran & Gearbox Centre, New Inn, Pontypool for estimates - awaiting replies,

Can you recommend anywhere else in Newport please?

Sorry I cant recommend anyone but make sure whoever you use is a reputable , accredited Automatic gearbox specialist and you get a good , full warranty on the work . . There are a lot of " cowboys " in that field unfortunately .
