2019 Citroen C3 rasping sound like blowing exhaust. engine light on, sluggish acceleration then burst of speed

Rasping sound like blowing exhaust. The engine warning light is on, and after a while the Spanner and Serious Engine Light come on. The sound is most obvious when slowing down, particularly in 2nd. The acceleration is sluggish for a short while then sudden acceleration in all gears (most obvious in 1st and 2nd). The diagnosis tool gives the generic result of 'Airflow issue', All pipes etc, air filter have been checked.

Before I spend hundreds of pounds having it taken apart with no real obvious ideas to the fault. Has anyone got any ideas or has come across this issue before? Thanks

Sure it's not just regeneration of the particle filter , if so , perfectly normal

Sadly not, it seems to be regenerating, my garage also has forced the regen and all was fine. Thank you though.

Check for any exhaust leaks , exhaust manifold leaks , any leaks can cause the o2 / lambda to send wrong info to ECU . Dependant on mileage , a partially plugged cat / exhaust can cause what you describe
