2005 Citroen C2 immobilizer stuck on

Car: Citroen C2
Year: 2005
Variant: Sx
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Key fob is not working checked battery ok, programed it still no central lock ing working. Open manullay and still immobilizer stays on. The lock barrel seems a bit iffy!
Would a lock barrel off another c2 a year earlier 04 work or would it not work being a differant lock with the ecu?

Tested the fuses seem to be ok., when you put key and turn on the lights wont go off either.

What lights ? Is the car starting / engine turning over ?
Posted Jul 18, 2021 (2 years ago)
The engine will turn over but not start, the central locking just will not work at all done all trying to set key fob etc. But the lock barrel seems to be not right. The key can go right round and takes a few wriggles to unlock. And as i say when you put key in to start the battery light is flashing the headlights are on even though they are off,

When you talk of lock barrel ,is it the ignition lock barrel or door lock barrel?
Posted Jul 18, 2021 (2 years ago)
The door lock barrel
Posted Jul 18, 2021 (2 years ago)
You say the fob battery is o.k , to test you would have to be in key fob , check transponder chip has not been dislodged . Strip down door trim and check operation of linkage when turning the key and spray with WD40 , working back and forth . Likewise with key barrel in door lock .If still having problems , scan for fault codes or get an auto electrician to check out .

Could there be a wire off back of the barrel? Cause theres no sound of the central locking trying to work?
Posted Jul 18, 2021 (2 years ago)
As far as I know , on that car locking manually only locks / opens the drivers door . If central locking was working as it should it would work with inside locking button But looks like a BSI / immobiliser fault

Ive just had a thourght we changed the stereo in it would that have affected anything?
Posted Jul 19, 2021 (2 years ago)
That makes all the difference , there is a small yellow fuse under the glove box that often blows causing your problems

Had a mobile macanic out! A wire had come off at back og fuse box ! It starts now but no central locking due to motor, we gonna get the motor off the spare car we got and put on this one.
