I got the car home, it went perfectly, I parked it, I put it in neutral, and later when I wanted to leave, the car wouldn't let me start the engine, as if it didn't feel like it was in neutral, when I put it in drive, the shifter was very soft, as if the car had not gone into gear, the car tells me on the dashboard that it is in neutral, and after I try to turn the key, sometimes the hazard lights come on

I would be checking the gear linkage for wear . there are usually repair kits available for most models if needed
