Engine shakes when selecting reverse

Car: Volvo V70
Year: 1999
Variant: v70 xt auto

when selecting reverse the engine seems to shake it also makes a ratteling noise it only does this in reverse

Usually a sign of general wear and tear in auto g/box but could check ATF level .
