2002 Volvo V70 information display fault

my driver information panel works fine for the first 30 seconds after the engine has started, then it goes haywire, the letters / number jump around, reverse themselves and then finallt the display then goes out.
Although this does not affect the car it is anoying when it wont display the error messages.
any help or ideas as to what it could be?

norm prob is lose conection on the back of your display is a multi pin plug you may find this has come lose or even (but not so often)broken wire or corrostion
