One time rattling sound under car, goes away
within a minute, sounds like I ran over some
thing. A couple of months later same thing again-- gone in a minute.

Possibly exhaust rattle or exhaust heatshield loose , hard to diagnose without hearing .You could run car into any fast fit exhaust centre , when they are quite and get them to run on ramp and have a quick once over for rattle . Only takes a few mins and should be foc.
