1996 Volvo 440 inmobaliser wont let car start

been in garage they cant find part car doors open alarm dosnt go off but engine wont start been told inmobaliser needs replaceing mechanic very poor on details and had car for two weeks now can anyone tell me if you have to replace inmobaliser and where to try for part thanks

hi i dnt know that much about it myself but i have a peugeot 106 1995 which has an immoboliser in it. my car wont start at the moment either but thats cos my battery went flat. i think u should get a second opinion or ask the person you bought the car from if they know whats wrong.
is there any chance of ur battery being flat cos if so this could be the reason for the alarm not going off and the car not starting, which is wots wrong with mine.
